My journey to become a pilot and flight instructor came later in life, specifically at the tail end of my twenty-year active-duty career as a Machinery Technician in the U.S. Coast Guard. From Maine to Alaska, Massachusetts to Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, my family and I had a great time in the service. However, it was time to retire and move from sailing on the horizon to flying above the horizon!

I never thought I wanted to be a pilot, but I always liked cars growing up. I went to a CTE program at Dover High School to learn more about cars and get my ASE certification....I started flight training when I was still at Planesense and fell in love with it.

I was amazed by the idea of how far I could travel in just a few hours. The sense of excitement and wonder while looking out the window on my very first flight has never wavered. I originally considered becoming a flight attendant, until I realized that I wanted to be the one flying the plane.
