Congratulations to Dan S. for passing his Private Pilot checkride!
On Thursday, November 21, Dan flew N271VA up to Sanford Regional Airport (KSFM) to meet with DPE John Gary for his checkride. Once he arrived they hopped in N271VA and took to the skies. After a few maneuvers and landing back at KSFM, John Gary turned to Dan and said “Couldn’t have done it better myself!”. Dan got to walk away with a shiny piece of paper officially making him a private pilot!
Dan is proof that you are never too old to chase your dreams. While most people his age would never consider learning to fly, Dan took it on with a passion. When he has spare time in his busy schedule as a cardiac surgeon, Dan loves to learn and discuss all things aviation related. In teaching someone to become a pilot, there are two types of students, those you simply teach to fly, and those that you connect with. Dan certainly falls into the latter category as he is one of the most affable people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting.
Great work, Dan!
